At this year’s Gala we will once again present the works of some of the most prolific Opera writers of all time, as well as one-of-a-kind silent auctions and an amazing dining experience. The proceeds from this event benefit our Kids Love Opera program and help us bring opera into young hearts and minds in local schools. For full details please click here.

Friday, August 31 | 6:00 pm |  Old Saybrook, CT

Continuing the trend of Open-air Opera, our Opera in the Park takes place on the Old Saybrook Town Green, adjacent to the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center. Join our amazing singers for an evening featuring songs from some of the greatest musical writers of all time. Perfect for a picnic with family and friends or a relaxing evening all to yourself, we recommend a ten dollar donation (no donation for children 14 and under) to benefit Salt Marsh Opera at the gate.

Following four young artists in 19th-Century Paris, La bohème is an ongoing struggle between love, poverty, loyalty and sacrifice. It is often referred to as Puccini’s finest work, both for its balance of comedy and tragic romance and its cultural influence on generations of viewers. With two shows at The Kate and a special "in the round" performance at Kent Hall, this will be our most spectacular production of 2018. Tickets for The Kate are available on their website, and tickets for Kent Hall will go on sale soon.
