OPERA IN THE PARK | AUGUST 31
6:00 pm | Old Saybrook Town Green, Old Saybrook, CT
Continuing the trend of Open-air Opera, our Opera in the Park takes place on the Old Saybrook Town Green, adjacent to the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center. Join our amazing singers for an evening featuring songs from some of the greatest musical writers of all time. Perfect for a picnic with family and friends or a relaxing evening all to yourself, we recommend a ten dollar donation (no donation for children 14 and under) to benefit Salt Marsh Opera at the gate.
LA BOHÈME | SEPTEMBER 21-23
Showtimes and locations vary
Our Fall production is always the most spectacular and ambitious of the season, and this year will be no exception. We are excited to present Giacomo Puccini’s classic La bohème, one of the world’s most popular Operas and the inspiration for the Broadway hit musical Rent. For more showtime information and to get your tickets before they sell out, call (860) 535-0753.
There's always excitement surrounding our Spring and Fall productions, but did you know we also produce a series of Summer Concerts?
In this episode of Behind the Curtain, Simon discusses our exciting Summer Concert Series. Filmed at the Old Stonington Lighthouse Museum, the site for the upcoming Music at the Lighthouse, get a sneak peek at the beautiful venues hosting this year’s events. Whether it’s an oceanfront Gala, a concert in the park or a picnic overlooking the bay, we’ve got a concert for you, and we hope to see you there!
Salt Marsh Opera has been providing Southeastern CT and Southern RI with well-received Opera since 2001. Our efforts to grow Opera are made possible through the generosity of our community foundations, corporate sponsors and individual donors. Your generous support helps us expand and enrich our Kids Love Opera! program in a number of ways. It helps create dynamic, multi-media guides to accompany classroom instruction. Support also enables us to deliver complete productions to multiple schools in varying regions, such as this year’s original opera Jack and Jill and the Happening Hill!
With different levels of corporate and individual sponsorship, there’s always a way to help reach and inspire local communities. To see how you can become a sustainer and help bring music to life for children throughout Southeastern Connecticut and Southern Rhode Island click here.
